Built by the Industry. For the Industry.
LightDay exists because the software we needed didn't. After years of using tools that were built by developers who had never run a salon or a clinic, we decided to build it ourselves.

Ben Parker founded LightDay after spending years as the owner of both a hair salon and an aesthetics clinic in the UK. Running two businesses across different regulatory environments — one with growing CQC requirements, one with the everyday operational pressures of a busy salon — meant juggling software tools that were never quite fit for purpose.
Booking systems that couldn't track colour formulas. Compliance tools sold as expensive add-ons. Marketing platforms that required a separate subscription. Reporting dashboards that told you revenue but not profitability. After trying and rejecting multiple platforms — from generic appointment apps to specialist clinic software — Ben and his team set out to build the platform they had always needed.
The result was LightDay: a single flat-rate subscription that includes real-time contraindication checking at point of booking (an industry first), one-click CQC compliance pack generation, Spark AI for automated lead generation, and ProfitLens financial intelligence — all built into the core product, not sold as extras.
Ben continues to run his salon and clinic alongside leading LightDay's product development. Every feature request is tested against real operational need. If it doesn't solve a problem that salon and clinic owners actually face, it doesn't ship.
Why We Built It
Every management platform we tried was either built for generic service businesses, or built by developers who had never worked in a salon or clinic. The gaps were obvious to anyone who had — so we filled them.
Our Commitment
LightDay will always be built by people who use it themselves. That means real-world testing, honest pricing, and a product roadmap driven by the practitioners we serve — not by what looks good in a feature matrix.
